1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Glasshouse ("Glasshouse," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Glasshousewebsite, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the service

Glasshouse is an informational transparency platform. We aggregate, organize, and display publicly available financial disclosure data filed by members of the United States Congress and related public records (including data reported under the STOCK Act and periodic transaction reports).

The Service may include trade feeds, politician and company profiles, charts, performance estimates, alerts, watchlists, reports, and other tools intended to help you research and monitor disclosed activity. Features may change, especially while the Service is in beta.

Glasshouse is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial planner, or tax advisor, and is not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission or any state securities regulator in that capacity.

3. Not financial, legal, or tax advice

The Service is for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on Glasshouse constitutes investment advice, a recommendation, an offer, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security or financial instrument, or to engage in any investment strategy.

Congressional disclosure data can be delayed, incomplete, rounded, amended, or subject to interpretation. Any performance figures, comparisons, rankings, or analytics we display are derived from public data and assumptions, may contain errors, and should not be relied on as accurate or complete.

You are solely responsible for your investment and financial decisions. You should conduct your own research and consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on information from the Service.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

5. Accounts and access

We may offer optional account features in the future. If you create an account, you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of unauthorized use.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms or conduct that we believe harms the Service or other users.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, or automate access to the Service in a manner that burdens our infrastructure or circumvents rate limits, except as permitted by our robots.txt or written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or underlying data models except where prohibited by law
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
  • Misrepresent affiliation with Glasshouse, impersonate others, or mislead users about the source of data
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or threaten any person, including public officials
  • Redistribute substantial portions of the Service or our proprietary presentation of data for commercial purposes without our consent

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, branding, text, graphics, and compilation of data, is owned by Glasshouse or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Public disclosure source documents are in the public domain or otherwise subject to their own terms; our selection, organization, enrichment, and presentation of that data is our proprietary work.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. No other rights are granted.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service may reference or link to third-party websites, data sources, or tools. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, accuracy, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

9. Beta and changes to the service

The Service may be labeled or offered as a beta. Beta features may be incomplete, change frequently, or be discontinued. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without liability.

We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, additional terms or pricing may apply and will be presented to you before you are charged.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF DATA.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT DISCLOSURE DATA OR ANALYTICS WILL BE TIMELY, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PURPOSE. PAST DISCLOSED TRADING ACTIVITY DOES NOT PREDICT FUTURE RESULTS.

Glasshouse is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the United States Congress, any government agency, or any member of Congress. Names, offices, and identifiers of public officials appear solely for informational purposes based on public records.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Glasshouseand its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

14. General

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Glasshouse regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements on the subject. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
